One of the most rewarding things you'll ever do
Scout leaders come from all walks of life. What they share is a belief that young people deserve adventure, challenge and the chance to become the best version of themselves.
Here's what our leaders say they get out of it.
Camp in state forests, run hike nights, lead kayak trips. Leaders do the fun stuff too.
You become a trusted figure for young people in Mt Eliza. That matters more than you know.
Leadership, planning, first aid, outdoor skills — you grow as much as the Scouts do.
Watching a nervous 11-year-old become a confident patrol leader is genuinely life-changing.
You'd be joining these people.

Not at all! Many of our best leaders never did Scouts as kids. What matters is enthusiasm for working with young people.
Most leaders commit to Tuesday nights during school terms, plus a few weekend activities a year. We're flexible and understand people have busy lives.
You'll learn alongside the Scouts. Scouts Victoria training covers everything you need, and you'll have experienced leaders beside you.
