Getting Set Up

Three things to do in your first week.

📱

Step 1 — Download the Stack App

Do this first!

Stack is how we send all updates, event reminders, permission forms and announcements. If you're not on Stack, you'll miss important information.

How to find us on Stack:
1 Download Stack from the App Store or Google Play — it's free
2 Create an account with your email address
3 Search for group "1stranelagh"
4 Select the Scouts section
5 Under Events — see what's coming up and RSVP
6 Under Documents — find resources shared by leaders
7 Under Duty Roster — parents can sign up to help at events

Step 2 — Get set up on Terrain

For Scouts

Terrain is Scouts Australia's official system for recording attendance, participation and progression toward badges and milestones. Once you're registered as a member, your leader will help you log in.

What Scouts use Terrain for:
✅ Recording attendance at meetings and camps
✅ Logging Special Interest Area projects
✅ Tracking Outdoor Adventure Skills
✅ Working toward Milestones and the Australian Scout Award

What parents can do:
✅ Help your Scout log in at home
✅ Encourage them to enter their projects
✅ Ask: "Have you uploaded that yet?" — the work belongs to the Scout!

Step 3 — Bookmark our Google Drive

For parents

Our shared Google Drive folder has everything in one place — packing lists, meal planners, run sheets, event details and more. Bookmark it now so you always know where to find things.

Don't miss out!

Community Fundraising BBQ

1st Ranelagh runs a regular fundraising BBQ that helps fund our program, equipment and adventures throughout the year. Every sausage sold goes straight back into Scouts!

But here's the best part for Scouts — participating counts as a Community activity toward your Milestones in Terrain. It's one of the easiest ways to tick off community service and make a real contribution to the group.

⚠️ Spots fill up fast!

There are only a limited number of volunteer slots at each BBQ. All Scouts are encouraged to sign up — but don't leave it too late or you'll miss your chance for this one!
